Responsible research

Brainology conducts studies under Institutional Review Board review and approval as applicable to the protocol. IRB oversight helps protect participant rights, safety and welfare. Participation is voluntary and begins only after the informed-consent process.

IRB review and ongoing oversight

An independent IRB evaluates study ethics, risk, consent materials and participant protections. Required amendments, safety reporting and continuing oversight follow the approved protocol and applicable requirements.

Voluntary informed consent

Potential participants receive study-specific information about purpose, procedures, foreseeable risks, potential benefits, alternatives and the right to decline or withdraw without penalty.

Privacy and data stewardship

Research information is collected and used according to the approved protocol, authorization and applicable privacy requirements. Study-specific details are explained during consent.

IRB approval reflects ethical review and participant protections. It does not mean an investigational intervention is proven, risk-free or endorsed as effective.
